True to its name, this long grain cooks with the aroma of the great outdoors. Its firm texture and rich, nutty flavor will add a rustic touch and whole-grain goodness to your favorite recipes, including soups, side dishes, and even desserts.
Suggested use
Stove Top Cooking Instructions
This product is raw, it must be cooked in order to enjoy its delicious flavor.
- Using a fine mesh sieve, thoroughly rinse 8oz of wild rice under cold water for 1-2 minutes and drain.
- In a 2 qt. saucepan bring 2 1/4 cups water to a boil. Stir in wild rice.
- Cover with a tight-fitting lid. Reduce heat to maintain a low simmer and cook for 45-50 minutes.
- With lid on, remove from heat and let steam for 10 minutes. Fluff with fork and enjoy.
Tip: If rice is too firm at the end of cooking, add 1-2 Tbsp. liquid and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
Rice Cooker: To prepare in a rice cooker, use the same rice to liquid ratio as stovetop instructions.
